Become medical personnel who can deeply understand the human body and provide appropriate care

A judo therapist is the only medical profession with a national qualification that can treat injuries other than doctors.
In this department, in addition to traditional Japanese medicine techniques, knowledge of Western medicine will be studied in a well-balanced manner.
You will also acquire communication skills in order to be close to the patient's mind and body.
The student's goal is to be a Judo therapist who can play an active role in orthopedics, nursing homes, and sports sites, including osteopathic clinics.
You can also aim for an athletic trainer (AT) qualification if you wish.

Three Features

Point 1

We provide detailed guidance to each student through small-group education

This program features detailed small-group education with a capacity of 30 students per grade.
Students who have devoted themselves to sports will also learn the habits of studying at university and we will support them so that they can lead a smooth university life.
Having a full-time female faculty member is also one of the advantages of this department.
We will provide guidance from a wide range of perspectives so that both men and women can broaden the fields in which they can be active.

In addition to Judo therapy, students can aim for other qualifications such as athletic training

In addition to Judo therapy, we have introduced a curriculum aimed at acquiring qualifications such
as athletic training, in order to foster individuals who can play an active role in the field of sports.
In addition to learning essential knowledge for Judo therapy such as anatomy and physiology, there are also a variety of elective courses such as "Introduction to Sports Trainers," "Aromatherapy", and "Introduction to Long-term Care Prevention."

Point 3

A fulfilling internship where students can experience professional sports on-site

Students undertake an internship where they can experience the field of professional sports under the guidance of a team trainer during the home game of the J League team "Ventforet Kofu".
Opportunities are open to enthusiastic students in the first and second years.
Students visit various sites and hone their practical skills.
