Department of Tokyo Physical Therapy
(Senju Campus)

To be a physiotherapist who can play an active role at the forefront of rehabilitation

A physiotherapist supports the recovery of the athletic ability of patients who have physical disabilities due to injury or illness.
In addition to the skills necessary to perform accurate rehabilitation, this is a job that requires communication skills that are close to the patient's heart.
In this department, students will acquire a wide range of knowledge in order to collaborate with other occupations in a medical care team, as well as the curriculum to pass the national examination for physical therapy.
Students can also aim for an athletic trainer (AT) qualification if they wish.

Three Features

Point 1

Off-campus observation / practice starts from the first year
Students can engage in practical studies from an early stage

Clinical tours of hospitals and facilities begin in the first year.
By actually observing the physiotherapist playing an active role and interacting with patients, students can have a concrete image of the future they should aim for.
In addition, there is off-campus training in each grade.
Experiential learning by practical training is carried out step by step according to the degree of achievement of their learning.

Point 2

Practical exercises and practical lessons to improve and practice clinical skills required to become a physiotherapist

In addition to lectures to learn theory, we also offer many types of practical training and exercises that are aimed at a clinical environment.
Students will acquire the clinical skills required to be a physical therapist, such as clinical judgment and basic skills, for major diseases such as cerebrovascular disorders, osteoarthritis, and respiratory / cardiovascular diseases.

Point 3

The first AT course in the Tokyo metropolitan area (the second school in Japan) to train physiotherapists

Physical therapists are also active in the sports field.
A physiotherapist with knowledge of sports medicine and athletics on the basis of medical knowledge and skills can play an important role in preventing sports disabilities and returning athletes to competition after injury.
In addition to sports-related classes, we have set up an athletic training course* to support people who would like to work in the sports field.
*Double degree course
