主な研究と活動

リングホーファー　萌奈美

人と密接な関係を築くことができる、伴侶動物。彼らはこれまで、人社会に大きく貢献してきました。現在は心身の治療や教育といった場面での活躍も広がり、より一層人社会に貢献することが期待されています。一方で、このような動物と人との間では、さまざまな軋轢も生じています。その主な要因として、動物の心理・行動に対して人側の理解不足が挙げられます。
研究では、人と動物とが関わる場面での両者の心理・行動および動物本来の社会性を、認知実験や行動観察を通して検証しています。現在は特に「他者への理解」と「他者との行動調整」といった能力に注目して、研究を進めています。このような研究が、人と動物とがより良い関係性を築く一助となることを目指しています。
