Admission Policy

We welcome individuals who sympathize with the school motto of our university ("We aim to foster individuals who will be able to diligently look ahead to the future of humankind, learn deeply about the dignity of life, and contribute to the coexistence of nature and humans"), who are considerate of others, have a sense of mission to contribute to society, and have a strong will and intellectual curiosity to acquire the academic skills necessary for this purpose.

In addition, we evaluate the results obtained up to and including high school regarding the three elements of academic abilities ("knowledge / skills", "thinking ability / judgment / expressivity", and "attitude to learn independently and collaborate with various people").
However, in order to accept individuals with a diverse set of qualities, we will implement various application selection criteria with different points of importance.

In each of the following departments, we seek individuals who have the following abilities and foundational perspectives:

Faculty of Life & Environmental Sciences

Department of Life & Health Sciences

  • 1. Those who have basic academic aptitude in mathematics, Japanese, and English.
  • 2. Those who are interested in the mechanisms of life, human health, and biotechnology, and have academic aptitude in biology and chemistry. (Course in Life Sciences and Course in Life & Health Sciences)
  • 3. Those who have a strong desire to actively work in the field of clinical engineering, have sociality and cooperative spirit that can contribute to team medical care, and have a well-balanced academic aptitude in physics, chemistry, and biology. (Course in Clinical Engineering)

Department of Natural & Environmental Science

  • 1. Those who are interested in various environmental problems that are occurring in modern society.
  • 2. Those who have taken biology and chemistry in high school and have basic academic aptitude in mathematics, Japanese, and English.

Department of Animal Sciences

  • 1. Those who understand the purpose of this department and have a strong desire to acquire specialized knowledge and skills.
  • 2. Those who have abundant sensibility as well as basic academic aptitude.
  • 3. In particular, those who excel in the subjects of English, science, and mathematics, are enthusiastic about extracurricular activities, have a strong desire to contribute to society, and can practice in collaboration with others.

Faculty of Medical Sciences

Department of Physical Therapy

  • 1. Those who understand the school motto of our university and have a deep interest in medical care, health, and welfare.
  • 2. Those who are interested in physical therapy and are willing to learn proactively by themselves.
  • 3. Those who have acquired the basic academic aptitude necessary to become a physical therapist.
  • 4. Those who can listen to the opinions of others and can actively communicate with anyone.

Department of Occupational Therapy

  • 1. Those who are interested in social contributions such as volunteer activities and are willing to participate.
  • 2. Those who can continuously engage in extracurricular activities such as club activities, social circles, and hobbies.
  • 3. Those who are interested in occupational therapy and have the necessary basic academic aptitude.

Department of Judo Therapy

  • 1. Those who have a clear sense of ethics and purpose to become a Judo therapist and can accept diverse cultures.
  • 2. Those who have basic academic aptitude and scientific thinking ability.
  • 3. Those who have common senses of expressiveness and vocabulary, can make a clear self-assertion, reflect on themselves, as well as listen to the opinions of others.

Department of Tokyo Physical Therapy

  • 1. Those who are interested in the work of a physical therapist and have a strong will to become a physical therapist.
  • 2. Those who can sympathize with the sick and vulnerable and are willing to explore health, medical care, and welfare.
  • 3. Those who have the basic academic aptitude necessary for physical therapy and can actively engage in learning.
  • 4. If aiming for qualifications related to trainer at the same time, in addition to the above criteria, those who have a strong interest in being trainers and can actively engage in learning.

Department of Tokyo Judo Therapy

  • 1. Those who think about the dignity of life and can cherish both themselves and others.
  • 2. Those who have a strong interest in being a Judo therapist and have the necessary basic academic aptitude.
  • 3. Those who can maintain their will to become a Judo therapist and can learn proactively.
  • 4. If aiming for qualifications related to being a trainer at the same time, in addition to the above criteria, those who have a strong interest in being trainers and can actively engage in learning.

Department of Nursing

  • 1. Those who respect life and can cherish both themselves and others.
  • 2. Those who are interested in the community and people, as well as are willing to contribute to them.
  • 3. Those who respect the diverse values and have the flexibility to build relationships across generations.
  • 4. Those who are interested in nursing, have the necessary basic academic aptitude (Japanese, English, biology, mathematics, etc.), and can continue to study.

Department of Medical Welfare

  • 1. Those who are interested in social welfare.
  • 2. Those who have basic academic aptitude and are willing to learn, and are motivated to learn.
  • 3. Those who can listen to the opinions of others and communicate with them.
  • 4. Those who have the attitude of proactively participating in social activities.

Faculty of Education & Human Sciences

Department of Child Science & Education

  • 1. Those who have the basic academic ability necessary to study pedagogy and childcare, as well as can continue to have the will to become an educator and childcare worker.
  • 2. Those who have the ability of Japanese and communication, as well as are proactively engaged in learning.
  • 3. Those who can listen to the opinions of others and express their own opinions while valuing their relationships with others.
  • 4. Those who are interested in relationships with diverse people and social activities.

Department of Early Childhood Education & Nursing

  • 1. Those who have basic academic aptitude and have a strong will to become a childcare worker.
  • 2. Those who have Japanese ability and communication ability, as well as are actively engaged in learning.
  • 3. Those who have a wide range of curiosity about nature and society, and can explore by themselves.
  • 4. Those who have the ability to cooperate and to express themselves, as well as are interested in social contribution activities.

Department of School Education

  • 1. Those who have a strong will to become a teacher and are proactively engaged in learning.
  • 2. Those who have acquired the academic ability that will be the basis of each course which are necessary to become a teacher.
  • 3. Those who can grasp things from different aspects and in logical manner, express one's thoughts, and convey them to others.
  • 4. Those who can find problems that exist in the environment surrounding them, and work toward solving them while interacting with various people.

Admission Policy (All Graduate School)

We welcome those who sympathize with the school motto of our university ("We aim to foster individuals who will be able to diligently look ahead to the future of humankind, learn deeply about the dignity of life, and contribute to the coexistence of nature and humans, as well as contribute to the development of a sustainable society"), have a sense of mission and motivation to contribute to society, and have the knowledge and abilities listed in each major.
