What kind of education is required for children who will lead the society of the future, which is becoming more sophisticated and complicated?
The goal of this department, which consists of four courses aimed at elementary school teachers, junior high and high school science teachers, health and physical education teachers, and English teachers, is "training teachers who have problem-solving abilities."
We aim to train teachers who can understand the individuality of each child and student and think of ways to develop their potential.
Point 1
Developing practical education to "become a teacher" beyond acquiring qualifications
It goes without saying that students will develop specialized learning in each of the four courses, but we also focus on personality formation suitable for teachers, such as common sense, etiquette, and grooming.
Students will also experience volunteer activities and internships in a school environment from the first year.
We train teachers who have high expertise, leadership, and humanity.

Faculty members and Center for Teacher Development support students
As a university affiliated with the "Tokyo Teacher Training School", the faculty members and Center for Teacher Development will work together to support students who are aiming to pass the teacher employment exam.
In addition, we have introduced an "advisory faculty system" in which one faculty member supports and advises a student from admission to graduation.
For students who are worried about their learning up to and including high school, we also provide remedial studies and learning support as needed.

In the International English Course, four courses aimed at teaching professions work together in order to develop cooperativeness and communication skills
In April 2019, the International English Course was added to the existing coursework, forming four courses in total.
There are plenty of opportunities to interact with students who have different specialties, such as classes to study with students from other departments including common subjects within the same department, and extracurricular activities in the community.
While acquiring the "ability to unify a group", students will cultivate a perspective to understand and respect children and therefore students, with diverse personalities.
Elementary school teachers interact with children of all ages, from 6 to 12 years old.
In this course, we aim to train elementary school teachers who have deep insight into understanding children, the ability to create attractive lessons according to the development of children, and the ability to build relationships of trust.
The importance of information and technology is increasing in this modern society. There is a need for teachers in the field of education who can convey the fun of science to the children who will lead the future and think about things from the aspect of science.
The feature of this course is that we have faculty members with specialties in astronomy, biology, physics, etc.
We will broaden the horizons of students by responding to their interests in science.
We train health and physical education teachers in junior high and high school, who can promote the mental / physical development of students through sustainable exercise guidance, and convey the importance of sports activities, the importance of developing health and physical fitness as well.
In the global age, there are more and more opportunities to use English in everyday situations.
In the future, the teacher's guidance is important for students to speak "usable English" in a dignified manner.
In this course, we train teachers who can develop the English lessons in English in schools.
